How to enter a Ringtone into your Panasonic GD67 / GD68 Telephone...

The GD67 and GD68 hansets are the first of a new breed of cell phones from Panasonic, featuring a color screen and 16 built in polyphonic ring tones. You can add more ringtones through the phones in built composer, or by sms. The Ringtone Converter helps you add the ringtones through the composer, so you can add the latest ringtones without incurring large telephone bills, or requiring any technical knowledge.

The ringtones created by the software are enhanced to be as loud as possible - if you want to turn them down just use the volume control on your phone, but for most people this is a very useful feature as the included tones, especially the polyphonic tones tend to be a little on the quiet side when you are in a noisy environment, like a shopping mall.

If you have a different Panasonic model, such as the GD75, click here.

Entering Ringtones into your handset

These instructions were written using a Panasonic GD67 for entry, however they should also work most new 'color polyphonic' Panasonic handsets. If you have non-color handset, like the GD75 or the Allure, or the Panasonic GD87 use the link above to jump to instructions for that handset.

1. First, locate your ring tone composer

To add this ringtone to your phone, press the central joystick button, and select 'Personalise', scroll down and select 'Tones', then scroll down and select 'Melody Composer'.

Select

Now, press and hold the top right menu button [c] to clear the current composition, and make room for your new tone. Remember to hold down the menu button until all the notes have been deleted!

2. Enter the key press sequence

Once you have located the composer on your phone, you need to enter the key press sequence given to you by the ring tone converter software. Look for the text similar to that in the image below.

Now (in the phones melody composer), simply type these numbers into your keypad, for example if you see 3 **** press the 3 key, then the * key four times. Ignore what is appearing on the phones display - if you press the keys in the sequence shown the ringtone will be added to your phone!

3. Save the tone

When you have finished press the top left menu button to listen to the new ringtone.

If you like what you hear, press the middle 'joystick' button again to save the ringtone to your phone. If the tone doesn't sound right, you have probably missed a key so you may wish to try entering the key sequence again.

That's it - it could not be simpler, or cheaper to add a new ring tone to your Panasonic GD67 phone (as often as you like!)

How to enter a Ringtone into your Panasonic Cell Phone...

We have tried to make entry of the ring tones into your Panasonic mobile phone as simple as possible. These instructions were written using a Panasonic GD75 for entry, however most Panasonic phones have the same menu system and ringtone composer, so whatever your model the Converter should work for you.

Update: If you have the newer Panasonic GD67 or GD87 handsets (with the polyphonic ringtones) the composer is slightly different in your phone. Click here for instructions for the GD67 and GD87, or other Panasonic phones with polyphonic ringtones, or read on for the standard handsets.

To enter the tones into your Panasonic phone....

1. First, locate your ring tone composer

To add this ringtone to your phone, press the central joystick button, and select 'Personalise', scroll down and select 'Tones', then scroll down and select 'Melody Composer'.

Now, press and hold the top right menu button to clear the current composition, and make room for your new tone. Remember to hold down the menu button until all the notes have been deleted!

2. Enter the key press sequence

Once you have located the composer on your phone, you need to enter the key press sequence given to you by the ring tone converter software. Look for the text similar to that in the image below, highlighted in yellow.

3. Save the tone

When you have finished press the top left menu button to listen to the new ringtone.
